Home Business Tips – Be in MLM & Still Have Friends

Multi Level Marketing carries a bad name with many people today. Lots of your friends will look at you like you have grown another arm and think or sometimes even say “Oh My Gosh, you’re in one of those things!”

What you want to do is not necessarily directly approach your friends. When you are talking within your circle of influence, your friends, you are not actively recruiting them. You want their help in finding people who are ready to join your MLM team. The goal is to get them to help you, not necessarily buy your MLM product or join your team.

To make the decision to start your own home based business is huge and smart people realize that it will also be a lot of work. If your friends are really interested they will ask you, because It is not about selling them on the idea. It is more about what you have to offer and how much do you value your opportunity. At first you simply want them to help you, to identify people they know that are ready to do something different. People who are ready to take charge of their lives and willing to work for it! As I grew in my MLM business I really began to get this concept and started to value my time a lot more.

All of your friends are not going to want to “jump right in” with you. (I actually thought they would want to in the beginning!) Please talk to your friends the same as you always have, don’t keep trying to sell them on your business. Let your long term actions speak for you, when you stay committed and keep building your team you may find that they come to you one day and ask you to tell them what it ‘s all about.

“Remember in ALL situations buying is voluntary.”

You only buy something that you believe is worth at least as much as what it costs. Many of your friends will not understand what it will cost them when they stay in their “jobs” instead of building their own business. That’s OK, you can still be friends you simply won’t be talking to them about your business. They may never come to understand the “worth” of their own business. You can still be friends!

“Remember, someone who does not have enough to buy what they want blames the seller instead of learning how to be of greater service to the world, and therefore increasing their value and their income.” Bill Harris

People will put up a wall when they believe sales is involved, without really realizing that they are selling and being sold to all the time. You want to treat your friends as you normally would and ask them for referrals, who do they know.
